Challenge
The Why:
New biosensor technologies have already started to become more widely introduced to what the future of pain management and strength training may start to look like.
However, there are no current products on the market that use these biosensors to integrate pain recovery treatments such as heating and cooling technologies for stiff joints and muscles.
The Goal:
Invent a new kinesthetic wrap that integrates biometric sensors to monitor joint movements and activate relieving heating and cooling measures.

research
Original design direction
At the beginning of this project, my focus was on how ice cream scoops can cause wrist pain. Due to the repetitive, forceful motion, ice cream scooping increases the risk of tendonitis and carpal tunnel syndrome.
Addressing the primary pain point
Due to input from user interviews and research into the oversaturated market for such a specific product, I changed directions to address the pain itself rather than one of the many causes.
Bioengineering research and understanding with AI
Coming from a design-based background, I integrated Claude.ai into my research to assist in gathering technologically relevant articles and best help my understanding of studying human motion, force, and injury mechanisms.
BRANDING
Developing a brand theme
An octopus theme was used for its smart abilities, flexibility, and grip.
