A traveling pop-up event collaborating with local libraries to inspire students and adults to understand the benefits and enjoyment of casual reading
Challenge
The Why:
Recent studies have shown that the rates of daily reading for pleasure have steadily declined over the past 20 years in the US.
The Goal:
Creating a community-based pop-up to highlight free digital resources and library programs to inform and increase public interest in casual reading.

The importance of reading
On average, most young adults stop reading around middle school through high school, when cognitive abilities are at their most vital for testing needs and preparing for college.
Brand integration
Involving well-known social media brands such as Libby and/or Goodreads expands the audience to people who may be less interested in traditional reading.

Sketches were created to analyze the different ways the folding panels could be rearranged for any event space, indoors and outdoors.

Materials and the set-up process
Due to the portable needs of a pop-up event, lots of consideration went into lightweight wood and foldable panels for easy travel and set-up.
